Peachhead™ Approved Vacations: Beaches Turks and Caicos Hotel May 2008

I recently returned from my second trip to Turks and Caicos. I had a great time the first time we went and this time was just as good if not better. I was there to preview their new fall program and what a great program it is. The resort is Sesame Street themed and they have a new character called Abby Cadabby that the girls loved. There are kids camps where you can leave your kids all day if you want and they have activities lined up all throughout the day. My kids were kept so busy and loved every minute of it. They loved making pizza with Grover, baking cookies with the cookie monster, dancing with the characters, boating with Elmo, scavenger hunt with Abby (Jasmine's new best friend), PJ story time with Elmo.

We did the character breakfast with the sesame street characters (tip, let your kids enjoy the fun with the characters and eat your breakfast before or after the character breakfast...I took my kids to breakfast before the character breakfast so I didn't have to worry about them eating while the characters were out there mingling with everyone). You get to take pictures with all of the characters and they dance with you.

We also did the Kitty Katt Boat ride with the characters. Zoe and Elmo came on the boat with us and danced and played games with the kids. You can take a dip in the water by going down the slide on the boat.

There is a lot to do at night as well. One night they had a huge pirate party with pirates, food, games and a show. The fire eater performed too. They have stage shows at night with the characters dancing and singing. One night they even had a dive in movie and the kids hung out in the pool and watched a movie. They are also having a new educational entertainment event where the characters perform a show for the family and teach them about eating healthy.

There are a number of restaurants to choose from for meals. There are 2 buffets (Reflections and Giuseppe's, the Italian restaurant) and then there are 2 adult only restaurants, and a number of other restuarants where you can order off the menu. I love the adult restaurant Le PetitChateau. Their salmon was so good and they have an amazing desert that I stopped in for every night. The kids really enjoyed Kimonos, where they cook the food at the table (similar to Benihanas).

I was able to take some time and get a massage. It was very relaxing.

They are building a new Italian Village that will have one of the largest waterparks in the Carribean. The Italian Village opens in January and the water park should be completed in March. The rooms are very upscale and they have bunk beds in the kids room. Right now they are offering 50% off of the rooms so if you are planning on staying in this part of the resort, book now.

The staff at the resort is so warm and friendly. Every morning Abdul ( the omelette maker) would be waiting to give Amber her morning hug and make her her special omelette. I met a couple at the beach who told me that her husband sends his employees to your resort to learn about customer service. He said you don't find better customer service than at this resort. I have to agree with him.

We flew in from Los Angeles but we always stop in Miami for a couple of nights first. I always promise the girls to spend 1 day at Wannadocity which is their favorite place. If you have never been there before, check it out at www.wannadocity.com. I noticed a new water park that is right near Miami airport that just opened in May 2008. It is called Black Beard Beach. http://www.miamigov.com/Parks/pages/Grapeland.asp Miami is a great way to break up the flight going to Turks and Caicos.

If you are planning on going there this fall (2008), they are offering a great special, 2 free nights, up to 45 percent off regular rack rates and a special welcome gift pack. This resort is an all inclusive (food and alcohol) and no tipping allowed.

Your kids will love this resort and if they are happy you are happy...... What a great family vacation.
